Holly and Ben were married on July 11th with a ceremony and reception at St. Philip’s Orthodox Church in Souderton, PA.
Ben and Holly met while they were teaching church together. Their religion, as well as the students they teach, are big parts of their lives, and many of their kids were there at the wedding to celebrate with them and help put everything together! It was so wonderful to see these kids giving back.
I started off the day with Holly and the bridesmaids at a hair salon, while my second shooter, Phil Mantas, met up with Ben and the guys at a hotel. Then, we headed over to the church—and it was absolutely beautiful! So full of color!
This wasn’t a typical wedding for me, and I was so inspired by all of the unique aspects of it. For example, there was the “crowning,” in which crowns or wreaths are placed on or held above the heads of the bride and groom. Then, after the ceremony, Holly was helped into her bridal sari by Ben’s mom—it was an important tradition for Ben’s parents to give the sari to her.
After the ceremony, we took some pictures of Ben and Holly together under the tree outside the church. They were so happy and looked so in love! I was glad we were able to capture some time with the two of them alone—even though it meant we were a bit late to the reception.
The day was VERY HOT, but the afternoon light on the dance floor during the reception was beautiful. Ben’s dance with his mom was so emotional, and the gorgeous light just made that moment stand out.
Thank you, Holly & Ben, for allowing me to be a part of your beautiful day! I wish you the very best in your future together.
